It's OK!

Do you sometimes experience flare-ups?

Sometimes, especially if we are dealing with a chronic health situation, we get thrown backwards despite all our efforts. This is often referred to as a flare-up and flare-ups can be devastating leading to anger, shame or depression. I find it helpful to keep in mind that life is never a straight line and that flare-ups can serve a positive purpose in forcing us to focus back on the basics needed to keep us healthy.

Don't Worry!

Do you sometimes find that you are plagued by anxious thoughts that you cannot rid your mind of?

My favorite line from the old movie Gone with the Wind is when Scarlett O’Hara says, “I can’t think about it now - I’ll think about it tommorrow”. I find it helpful, when I am plagued by worrisome thoughts, to choose a time in the future to think about the situation that is so worrisome. This enables me to release the anxiety (at least temporarily) that is plaguing me.

Reassessment

Is it time to reassess where you are with your health - body and soul?

Nothing in life stays the same. Things are always changing, even if it is not obvious. It is important to periodically reassess where we are with our health and to make any changes or corrections needed.
